Get Set London Roadshow comes to Stratford
Date of Event: 06/04/2008 - 07/05/2008
Get Set London road show at the Stratford Centre
The centre played host to the 2012 road show, with fantastic free events within the malls.

London 2012, The Mayor of London and the London Development Agency (LDA) have created the road show to give Londoners a unique opportunity to find out how the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games will increase jobs and skills opportunities and benefit culture, sport, business and regeneration in the capital and in their local borough.
The Newham event marked the end of an intensive tour which has seen the roadshow visit 30 locations across London since 9 January 2008. Get Set London has been the first chance for people from all over the capital to find out how they can make the most of the opportunities that London 2012 will bring, as well as showcasing London’s cultural diversity with free workshops in everything from African drumming and street dancing to circus skills and tai chi.

Events included transforming the West Mall with a 60 metre running track, Tate Modern art workshop plus the live final of the London 2012 Talent Contest. Music and dance acts from all over the capital have been competing for their chance to represent London by performing at the handover ceremonies between Beijing and London this August.
